On September 24, 2026, France's Defense Innovation Agency, with the Direction générale de l'armement, announced ALIQUANTE, a five-year defense technology project awarded to Thales Research & Technology, Bull and the CEA to build a sovereign quantum programming platform that emulates quantum computers, compiles gate circuits, splits work between supercomputers and quantum processors and estimates resources, all in a classified environment.
