Big Bang Boom Solutions Puts Its Quantum Illumination Radar at TRL 3 at QuantEW 2026, IEEE MILCOM, 12 October 2026: What the 6 dB Theory and a 15 mK Experiment Leave Open

Big Bang Boom Solutions used its QuantEW 2026 workshop at IEEE MILCOM on 12 October 2026 to announce a quantum illumination radar program it rates at TRL 3, with TRL 4 to 5 targeted in 24 months. The published physics caps the prize at a 6 dB error-exponent advantage under low-brightness, high-noise conditions, and the strongest measured result is a factor of 1.2 inside a 15 millikelvin dilution refrigerator. What the sources establish, and what a program office should ask before relying on the roadmap.

Quantum X Labs Pairs Rydberg Atom RF Sensing With Its Ramsey-CPT Atomic Clock, Announced 28 September 2026: What Is Shown, What DARPA and the Airbus RydRa Study Measured, and Why It Sits at TRL 2

On September 28, 2026 Quantum X Labs of Tel Aviv said it is developing Rydberg atom RF sensing and integrating it with the Ramsey-CPT atomic clock it reported in July at a stability of 1 × 10⁻13 at one second. The company states plainly that no integrated system has been demonstrated and gives no sensitivity, band or form factor for the sensor. We read the release against the public measurements that exist: NIST's self-calibrating atom-based field probes, DARPA's ROCkN holdover clocks tested on an aircraft, vehicles and a ship, and the Airbus, QVIL and DLR RydRa study that priced a Rydberg radar receiver at better than minus 170 dBm per hertz with 10 MHz per cell and a seven-meter array for directivity. The combined head is a formulated concept at TRL 2, dual-use by construction, and we set out the four results that would move it.

A Hybrid Quantum Classifier Learns to Vouch for Radar Satellites

Researchers at KAUST and the University of Pisa report QUASAR, a hybrid quantum-classical neural network that performs physical-layer authentication of X-band radar-satellite illumination pulses: an eight-qubit variational circuit coupled to a convolutional encoder, evaluated on a representative 10 percent subset of a 3.76-terabyte corpus of real ICEYE emissions, reaching 96.9 percent aggregate accuracy and rejecting most spoofed signals. A close look at radio-frequency fingerprinting as a defensive electronic warfare capability, what the simulated quantum circuit does and does not prove, and the distance between a strong paper and a satellite receiver system a program office could rely on.
